Cannabis-Centric Boutique Hotel In Las Vegas Is Underway

Cannabis and hospitality are two of the largest industries in North America. There’s only been a handful of merged ventures like the weed-friendly Clarendon Hotel and Spa in Pheonix, Arizona. Or even the ‘Buds and Breakfast‘ booking website that finds pro-cannabis hotels, BNBs, etc. 

In similar news, the owner of Pro Hospitality Group (which owns the Pheonix-based Clarendon Hotel), Alex Rizk, recently spoke to the Las Vegas Review-Journal about how the group purchased a 64-room Artisian hotel for $11.9 million. 

Their goal? To make the hotel a cannabis-friendly, welcoming, and approachable space. 

The Pro Hospitality Group is said to have purchased the building from the real estate and development company, the Siegel Group, and is also planning a $3 million renovation plan that will hopefully be completed by September. 

The “lifestyle, boutique hotel,” according to Rizk, sits at 1501 W. Sahara Avenue, and plans to make it a cannabis-friendly space are in the works, hopefully aligning with Nevada’s current marijuana laws. 

According to High Times, Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom was a firm believer in cannabis consumption lounges when he was a state senator in 2017. He’s mentioned to the Review-Journal that lounges are a “game-changer,” and they “are so perfect for [Nevada’s] tourism industry.”

Nevada legalized recreational cannabis in 2016 alongside California. However, the former’s bill stipulated that consumption is only allowed in private residences, spurring the birth of cannabis consumption lounges and prospective weed-friendly hotels. 

The new lifestyle boutique hotel in Las Vegas is currently under construction, which will hopefully be completed by September.
