First Time Smoking: The Do’s & Don’ts

What you should know for your first experience smoking weed

Smoking weed for the first time can be a fun and exciting experience, but also a little intimidating.

Whether you’re curious about trying weed for the first time or have been thinking about it for a while, knowing what to do and especially what not to do will make the experience more fun and pleasant.

Do's

Choose a place where you feel comfortable: Feeling comfortable is the first step to having a pleasant experience, this includes the place where you will do it and the people you will do it with. Comfort is fundamental to enjoying a cannabis experience.

Choose the right strain: There are many different strains of weed, each with its own effects and qualities. If you are a first-time smoker, consider trying a strain known for its mild effects and low THC content, such as a CBD-dominant strain or a hybrid.

Start slow: If you’re new to smoking weed, it’s important to start slowly. Start with a small amount and wait to see how it affects you before trying more. This will help you gauge your tolerance and avoid over-consumption.

Use good accessories: Invest in good quality equipment, such as a clean pipe or vaporizer, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Free up your schedule: If it’s your first time using weed, you don’t know how long the effects will last. So free up your schedule so you can enjoy the full effects of weed without worrying about having to do anything afterward.

Have snacks and hydration on hand: Smoking weed can increase your appetite and dehydrate you, so make sure you have snacks and plenty of water on hand.

Be patient: The first few times can be frustrating, but be patient and take it easy. You’ll get the hang of it and begin to know how you react to weed.

Don'ts

Don’t drive or drive: Weed can alter your senses, which includes a decrease in your motor skills, so avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

Don’t mix it with alcohol or other drugs: Mixing weed with alcohol or other drugs can cause dangerous and unpredictable side effects, so it’s best to avoid it.

Check legality: Before buying any weed product, make sure it’s legal where you’re going to buy it. If it’s not legal, take precautions and be careful.

Don’t smoke too much: If you are just starting out in the wonderful world of weed, start slow. You won’t impress anyone by smoking too much and then having annoying side effects. A little sometimes goes a long way and you better build up your tolerance first.

Herb's Tip

Always get your cannabis products from reliable companies that do lab testing on their creations. If you are going to consume weed make sure it is of quality and actually contains what its sellers promise.
